About The Position

Perianesthesia at ABMC operates in two dedicated locations within the hospital: East, located on the first floor, and Main, situated on the second floor. Each unit functions independently and delivers comprehensive, high-quality care across all three phases: Preoperative, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Discharge. Our multidisciplinary team includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), all working collaboratively with ABMC physicians and Anesthesia providers. Together, we are committed to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to every patient. We support a broad range of surgical and procedural specialties, including: Neurological, ENT, Plastics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Robotics, Urology, and Cardiothoracic. In addition, we provide perianesthesia care for procedures performed in specialized areas such as: Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Bronchoscopy Lab, Interventional Radiology (IR), Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab, PET Scan with Anesthesia, and Radiation Oncology. Our goal is to ensure safe, seamless, and patient-centered care throughout the surgical and procedural journey.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess the needs of the patient, plan and implement individualized interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care.
• Includes the patient and family in planning and implementing care and develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
• Anticipates and recognizes significant changes in the patient’s condition, status, and need for care.
• Provides ongoing assessment of the patient and takes appropriate actions when changes occur.
