About The Position

Thank you for considering a career at Roper St. Francis Healthcare! This position requires Operating Room Experience, specifically needs to Circulate and operate as scrub nurse as well. The RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for the organization including those for patient assessment and transfer. The primary function of this job, based on hiring tier, is to be available and flexible to float to various departments, and sites throughout the markets within the organization to provide patient care, which could include but not limited to scheduling day of staffing, more than one assignment location within a single shift, travel assignments, or seasonal staffing patterns. Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

  • Current nursing license in the designated state of employment (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification based on specialty assignment (required)
  • Associate's of Nursing (required)
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
  • Training in EPIC Electronic Health Record (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Float based on competency within a single site, multiple sites within a single market, or across more than one market.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and support organization departmental and operating unit goals.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement.
  • Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
  • Plan and coordinate nursing care and clinical decisions using the best available evidence.
  • Formulate and implement a plan of care for each patient including interventions and evaluations.
