About The Position

This position is part of the ACH Enterprise - Pediatrics: Transport Team and is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week. The role includes a weekend and holiday requirement. This position is eligible for a $10,000.00 sign-on bonus payable after hire.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of nursing experience (or 4000 hours equivalent) with a focus on critical care (peds preferred).
  • BSN required.
  • Current Illinois RN license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current PALS certification or obtained and maintained within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • Willingness to obtain RN licenses in other states as directed by Transport Leadership.
  • Ability to pass the FIT test and wear an N-95 mask.
  • Ability to transport in all modes of transport (ground, rotor, and fixed wing).
  • Ability to wear securement devices.

Nice To Haves

  • Interfacility transport experience preferred.
  • C~NPT (Certified Neonatal Pediatric Transport) certification preferred, must complete within 2 years of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care with a focus on critical care, preferably in pediatrics.
  • Participate in interfacility transport of patients.
  • Earn 15 continuing education credits annually related to transport medicine or neonatal/pediatric critical or emergency care.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Utilize mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones in the mobile environment.
  • Document and read while in the mobile environment.
  • Function independently in a variable and unpredictable transport environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Manage crises effectively and safely improvise as needed.
  • Exhibit leadership, flexibility, independence, initiative, intelligence, inquisitiveness, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Maintain dependability regarding attendance at work team meetings and committee meetings.
