About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric ICU (PICU) for a 13-week contract assignment in Syracuse, NY. This opportunity is ideal for a highly skilled critical care nurse with strong pediatric experience in high-acuity, trauma-level hospital settings. The ideal candidate is confident working in fast-paced, high-volume environments and has recent experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license/registration
• AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience (within the past 2 years)
• Experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center
• Experience in hospitals of equal or greater size and acuity
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
• Perform comprehensive assessments and continuous hemodynamic monitoring
• Administer IV medications, titratable drips, and blood products
• Manage ventilators and other critical care equipment
• Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary critical care teams
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Educate and support families during critical care treatment
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards
