About The Position

The Brenner Pediatric Emergency department is a 24-bed unit, including two dedicated Trauma Bays, specializing in treating children up to age 17 for a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries such as orthopedic, respiratory, cardiac, chronic illness, abuse, psychiatric care, and trauma. It has been a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center since 2011 and also serves as a dedicated Burn center, handling over 600 traumas annually. The department offers a robust trauma program for nursing staff, including trauma bootcamp, trauma team lead course, Trauma Nursing Core Course, and quarterly trauma simulations. There is also a growing SANE team for abused children. The department prides itself on providing extraordinary and evolving care, fostering ongoing growth for its nursing staff through free certifications (e.g., pediatric advanced life support, neonatal resuscitation) and national certifications with potential monetary gains. It promotes a family-like atmosphere, general wellbeing, and a strong work/life balance. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will be crucial in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, ensuring safe, therapeutic care according to established standards, policies, and procedures. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS are required within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of ED experience preferred
