The Nurse Navigator for Interventional Cardiology serves as a key clinical and operational resource, ensuring safe, efficient, and coordinated care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology (EP), Interventional Neurology and non-invasive cardiovascular procedures. This position is a dynamic role and may include documentation review for appropriate use, patient phone calls for pre and post procedure interviews, facilitating patient flow, oversees daily procedural and recovery area operations, and provides patient education and clinical support across the continuum of care.

Requirements

  • Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS and ACLS Certifications required.
  • Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited college or school of nursing
  • Will consider Associates Degree if enrolled in a BSN program
  • 2 years’ nursing experience required; prior experience in interventional cardiology, cath lab, or critical care preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Charge RN or leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre and post-procedure telephone assessments for cardiac catheterization, EP, and non-invasive procedures.
  • Monitor and coordinate the daily workflow of procedure rooms and recovery areas to optimize efficiency and patient safety.
  • Coordinate add-on or urgent procedures in collaboration with physicians, anesthesia, and scheduling staff.
  • Evaluate patients for clinical needs or schedule changes and escalate concerns appropriately to the care team.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold departmental standards of excellence.
  • Coordination and cross-training of departmental work duties to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as directed by manager.
