Now Hiring: Pre-op/PACU Nurse Ambulatory Surgery Center Location: Havertown, PA (Delaware County) Schedule: Per Diem | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM -Shift flexibility available on the front or back end depending on early, middle, or late shift needs. As a Pre-op/PACU Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to surgical patients — from pre-operative preparation to post-anesthesia recovery. You’ll work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your clinical expertise and attention to detail make a real difference.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 1 year of PACU or ICU experience
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Instructs patients and families appropriately.
  • Provides discharge instructions to patients/families, including medications, medical devices and follow up care needs.
  • Maintains emergency equipment and supplies which are located in the nursing department.
  • Evaluates patient status through ongoing assessment, and reports significant symptoms, reactions, or changes of status to the appropriate person.
  • Communicate appropriate information to peers, ancillary staff, and physicians.
  • Ability to appropriately use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Assess patients prior to surgery.
  • Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and in order.
  • Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
  • Initiate IVs and ensure that patients are informed about the procedure.
  • Assess patients’ post-operative condition, administer medication as ordered, and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Monitor vital signs.
  • Log all findings in patient files.
  • Answer patient questions and ensure they are kept comfortable.
  • Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the physician.
  • Perform intervention duties in case of post-operative emergencies.
