Requirements

At least 1 year PACU Experience
Active RN license with the State of Louisiana
Active CPR or BLS Certification
Active ACLS Certification
Current TB Skin Test, Quantiferon Results, or Chest X-Ray
Hep B
MMR
Varicella

Responsibilities

AM 6:45-7:15P
Utilizes assessment skills and tools to identify problems, needs, and intervention.
Recognized patients and families need for instructions and initiates appropriate action.
Recognizes health threatening changes in signs, symptoms, and results of diagnostic studies, responding appropriately.
Reviews and implements changes in physician's orders throughout patient care.
Carries out physician's orders accurately and questions unclear orders.
Possesses a working knowledge of equipment used in the PACU.
Assisting the team in maintaining and creating a comfortable, safe environment for the patient.
Detects early signs and symptoms of postoperative complications and report observations promptly to proper physician.
Documents in writing the specifics of performance during codes and conveys this information to Pre-Op/PACU lead.
Reports damaged instruments to the Pre-Op/PACU lead and follows proper procedure of damaged instruments and equipment.
Documents all necessary information to communicate the patient's progress based on the established plan of care.
Ensures patient safety through the utilization of accurate assessment, critical thinking, expert evaluation and skillful clinical judgment.
