About The Position

The position is part-time at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center within the Acute Care for Elderly Program. The role involves working dayshift from 0630 to 1900, including various weekends and holidays. The pay range for this position is between $34.90 and $52.35 per hour. The responsibilities include engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post-discharge. The role requires monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The nurse will uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and take action as needed. Other responsibilities include administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely, demonstrating effective communication, and pursuing professional development.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience based on specialty.
