About The Position

Operating Room Nurse providing care for all surgical specialties. St Joseph Mercy Canton has been serving the community since 1989. A facility designed to promote health and healing, this outpatient health center offers primary and specialty care physician services, urgent care, clinical lab, radiology, vascular lab and physical rehabilitation services. It also houses the state's first interactive health education center. An opportunity exists for a REGISTERED NURSE join our team in the Outpatient Surgery Center. General Summary Provides quality patient centered care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs through competent clinical practice and application of the nursing process. Consistently integrates concepts of relationship based care into practice. Serves as a clinical and educational resource to others on the unit. Assumes accountability for nursing care of designated patients. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies.

Requirements

• Graduation from accredited nursing program: As of 1/1/12, newly hired Registered Nurses must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within a specified time frame.
• Licensure: Requires current Michigan Nursing License
