The position involves providing therapies in the oncology setting, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, monoclonal antibody therapy, blood product transfusions, radiation therapy, and bone marrow transplant. The role requires demonstrating clinical competency through evidence-based practices in all areas of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes. Knowledge of safety protocols, cost containment, and quality improvement is essential. The nurse must adhere to compliance and policy requirements, including licensure renewal, assigned training, employee health screenings, and patient confidentiality. Additional training and certifications such as ACLS, PALS, chemotherapy/biotherapy, and transplant/cellular therapy curriculum may be required. The position may involve shift work, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.
