About The Position

The registered nurse provides nursing care to patients in an assigned clinical area and leadership on the unit, under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor, or RN Coordinator. The RN applies clinical nursing knowledge and utilizes demonstrated skills to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. The RN utilizes critical thinking to identify priorities and make judgments concerning basic and comprehensive needs of multiple patients in order facilitate appropriate and timely care. Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved professional registered nursing program.
  • 6 months in a clinical area. 1 year KSC experience may be considered in lieu of 6 months RN experience with approval from Sr Dir Nursing Services.
  • Current and valid Texas RN license
  • Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population for the assigned clinical area. Including CPR, oxygen administration, and intravenous therapy.
  • Computer experience.
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Two years of ambulatory care
  • Specialty nursing certification in ambulatory care or one appropriate to the specialty area assigned
  • Windows bases computer skills.
  • EPIC experience.
  • ACLS and/or PALS
