About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Orthopedic Nursing is responsible for managing, coordinating, and performing nursing care with passion and care for an assigned group of patients and their families. The nursing goal is to educate and restore patients to an optimal level of wellness as defined by the patients and their families while incorporating preventative measures. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care and support to patients throughout their healthcare journey.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current registration or eligibility for licensure with the State of Illinois.
  • Current Hepatitis B vaccination.
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze information and make decisions.
  • Ability to work under stress and adapt to changing conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in orthopedic nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • Additional certifications in nursing specialties.

  • Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practice to improve caring practices.
  • Facilitates active involvement of others in team meetings regarding patient care.
  • Integrates cultural differences into patient/family care.
  • Develops and modifies patient/family education programs.
  • Evaluates patient understanding by observing behavior changes.
  • Adapts standards of care to serve particular patient populations.
  • Seeks out advice to improve patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
