Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• No Previous Experience
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Kansas Registered Nurse License
• BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

• Additional certifications/registrations are required or preferred by specific clinical area of practice.
• RN must demonstrate certification/registration upon hire or agree to obtain requirements(s) within 1 year of hire unless deemed otherwise by manager.
• BCLS and ACLS must be courses provided by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary care team for the patients within his/her scope of responsibility.
• Provide direct patient care, collaborating with patients, families, peers, physicians and other members of the health care team.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to maintain and improve patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate leadership/management skills and a commitment to professional accountability and growth.
• Strive to advance from novice to expert and become an evidence-based scholar.
• Serve as a role model for the mission, vision and values of Shawnee Mission Health.
• Accountable for working within the parameters of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, all regulatory standards and established policies, protocols and procedures.
