Our community offers independent living, assisted living and memory care in the beautiful Black Hills. The Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assessments, documentation, and oversight of care for the residents. They will partner with the Director of Nursing to provide excellent care. The PRN Nurse will assist with the on-call schedule and support the community as needed. LPN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE: Ensures the well-being and protection of every resident through the delivery of high-quality care. Promotes and supports a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff. Ensure that all the needs are met by the residents as well as supervising staff that is on the shift. Ensures that any incident reports are completed properly and promptly. Prepares necessary medical paperwork for all scheduled resident appointments. Assists with compliance in meeting regulations and is available for state licensure surveys. Maintains resident files and appropriate documents as required. Assists Medication Aides and CNAs in service delivery and training as requested. Enter new doctors' orders that are received and inform DON of any med changes. Performs inventory management for medication administration by Medication Aides and checks new medications from the pharmacy. Communicate updates to staff. Assist with picking up shifts as needed. Actively available for on-call rotation. Assists with care conferences as needed. Reviews, edits, and creates nursing policy drafts to be reviewed and finalized by the Executive Director and/or DON. Obtains, administers, and documents prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility standards of practice. Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor, family (responsible party), and physician of residents change in condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of resident. Keeps resident family and physician informed of any changes in resident behavior, medications, or conditions of health. Works a minimum of 16 hours per month. Other duties as needed.
