Requirements

  • An active license in the state of practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Ability to work the hours specified.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years experience working in a clinical or long term care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends.
  • Provides resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team.
  • Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining residents; documenting residents physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors.
  • Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing resident care goals; instructing resident, family, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Evaluates resident's care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against resident care standards.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Keeps resident care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures.
  • Coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the facility.
  • Directs, plans and coordinates workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personnel.
