Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery
About The Position
Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for OR General Surgery at Windham Hospital. This role is part of Connecticut’s comprehensive healthcare network, where nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focusing on a patient-centered care model in a richly diverse workspace. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures, and medical staff directives. The RN is responsible for using the nursing process to develop a plan of care that meets the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and their families.
Requirements
- Possess current CT RN licensure
- Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Currently certified in BLS or completion during the first three months of employment
- Working knowledge of nursing process and customer service principles
Nice To Haves
- National certification in specialty preferred
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
- IV skill preferred
- Secondary language skills preferred
- ACLS strongly recommended for staff cross trained to ED, CCU, ACU/PACU and Endo areas
Responsibilities
- Utilize evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff
- Use the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family
