North Alabama Shoals Hospital is a 198-bed general acute care facility boasting spacious, private rooms for all patients, a 24-hour emergency department, medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and short-stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals’ only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults. Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current state RN license.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • Requires one to three years of work experience. Greater than 2 years preferred.
  • Must have 1 year of interoperate surgery OR experience.

Responsibilities

  • The RN is responsible and accountable for providing and coordinating patient care.
  • The RN identifies and addresses patient’s needs and priorities through assessment, planning and collaboration with other health care providers.
  • The RN will execute physician orders and supervise the implementation of nursing interventions.
  • The RN functions as a patient advocate representing the patient’s interests when illness prevents an individual from being physically or emotionally able to express their own feelings or thoughts.
  • The RN evaluates response to care through the outcomes of clinical results, patient satisfaction and acceptable cost.
