Signature Healthcare's Brockton Hospital is hiring for a Full Time Flex, Evenings & On Call, Registered Nurse (RN) for Operating Room in Brockton, MA. Operating Room: The Operating Room at Brockton Hospital is a crucial unit that spans patient care from Pediatrics to Geriatrics. Our 6 OR rooms facilitate an annual average of 5,800 procedures across twelve different service lines, including General, Ortho, and ENT. With a focus on same-day surgery options, particularly for our busy Orthopedics service line, our OR nurses play vital roles in pre-op duties and intra-operative nursing care. The array of skills and conditions treated encompasses Endoscopic, Laser, ENT, Ortho, Plastic, Podiatry, General, Thoracic, Urology, and Vascular procedures, making our Operating Room a dynamic and essential component of patient care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Licensure issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
ACLS & BLS certifications.
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
On-call responsibility with a 30 minute response time to the hospital

Software/Hardware: Meditech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assessment: collects relevant patient health data (age-specific pertinent to specialty area).
Diagnosis: analyzes the assessment data in determining nursing diagnoses.
Outcome identification: identifies individualized, expected outcomes for patient.
Planning/Implementation: develops and implements Plan of Care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
Evaluation: evaluates and documents the patient's progress toward attaining expected outcomes in the patient medical record.
Provide nursing care to assigned patients.
Administers prescribed medication and intravenous solutions in a safe manner.
Reports significant alterations in patient's condition to physician.
Counsels, educate, and includes patients and their families in accordance with the overall plan of care.
Assists patient and family in coping with stress accompanying illness; offering solace and support to the dying.
Quality of Care: systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
Individual Practice Evaluation: reflects knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws, regulations, and changes in health care delivery, in daily practice.
Education: acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in the care of patients.
Collegiality: interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and other healthcare providers as colleagues.
Ethics: decisions and actions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner.
Collaboration: collaborates with the team, consisting of patient, family, and healthcare providers, in providing patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
Research: uses clinical inquiry in practice
Resource Utilization: considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
