About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room for a Full Time, Day shift position in Charlottesville, VA. This position has required call. This position offers a 4 ten-hour shift schedule with required call. The call schedule is 1 day per week and one weekend per month from 7P to 7A. Sign on bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates! Sentara Martha Jefferson Main OR: Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. It is also the 2nd highest-performing OR in the Sentara system for Orthopedic total joint procedures. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Registered nursing License (Required)
ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
PALS within 1 year of hire.
BLS required within 90 days of hire
Scrub and circulator experience in an OR.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
Candidates who have completed a PeriOp 101 program.
Candidates who have previous Operating Room Experience
Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
Communication with patients and providers
