About The Position

Are you looking to take your perioperative nursing career to the next level? Join our dynamic team of skilled professionals in a Level 1 Trauma Center where you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact every single day. As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you'll be working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment across 11 state-of-the-art operating rooms. Our facility features cutting-edge technology, including a hybrid vascular room, two DaVinci robotic systems, and two Neuro/Spine Navigation platforms to support a wide range of surgical specialties. We perform approximately 500-600 complex cases per month, including Total Joints, Ortho Trauma, Urology, Neuro/Spine, and Vascular procedures. This diverse caseload offers the chance to continually grow your skills while working alongside expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams. The Operating Room RN is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout the perioperative period. This includes pre-op assessment, intraoperative assistance, and post-op evaluation, always keeping the patient and their family at the center of all decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of OR experience in acute care
  • Basic computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • CNOR certification
  • Experience in trauma, neuro, spine, ortho, or vascular procedures
  • PALS certification (if applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous assessment and develop individualized perioperative care plans.
  • Prevent surgical errors by adhering to safety protocols, including site verification and accurate surgical counts.
  • Administer medications and manage specimens in accordance with policies.
  • Maintain critical system functions (cardiac, respiratory, neurological) and ensure patient safety during procedures.
  • Promote patient education, engagement, and emotional support before and after surgery.
  • Ensure patient dignity, privacy, and culturally competent care.
  • Accurately document all care activities and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in ongoing performance improvement initiatives.
  • Uphold organizational values and serve as a patient advocate.
