About The Position

Wills Eye Hospital is hiring an Operating Room Staff Nurse in Conshohocken, PA at the Wills Eye Surgery Center – Plymouth Meeting . In this role, you’ll maintain the proficiency of the surgeons' needs, techniques, and requirements at all times in the scrub or circulating role. This is a Per Diem opportunity for someone who wants to make a direct impact on patient safety and surgical care. You’ll manage patient care coordination, surgical workflow, and clinical support throughout the perioperative process, and contribute to a positive patient experience. You’ll be successful if you consistently deliver safe, compassionate, and detail ‑ driven patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Active PA State Nursing License required .
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required .
  • One (1) year of clinical experience required .

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience is preferred .

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to strict Universal Precautions and Blood-borne Pathogens protocols.
  • Supports anesthesia, maintains patent patient airways, including adult and pediatric patients.
  • Assess the learning needs of patients/significant other(s ), and has knowledge of normal growth and development stages.
  • Cares for specimens and cultures as directed by set policies.
  • Administers drugs and responds to drug-related complications in a timely and safe manner.
