About The Position

Coordinates nursing care of the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Complies with unit, state, federal, and JCAHO standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program.
• Current and valid North Carolina Registered Nurse license with biannual renewal.
• Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire date.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire and maintained.
• Previous OR experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of principles of asepsis.
• Knowledge of patient assessment techniques and treatment techniques.
• Ability to operate and maintain all unit-specific equipment.
• Ability to respond to changing workloads and perform accurately in crisis situations.
• Demonstrate even temperament, tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude.
• Ability to work effectively with others and maintain knowledge of current trends.
