About The Position

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Inova Fairfax Medical is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join the team! This is a great opportunity for an OR nurse who is looking to specialize in Cardiovascular Surgery! This position offers the opportunity to be trained to support 7 CVORs for adult and pediatric surgery. Sign on Bonus & Relocation bonus is available for eligible candidates. Work Schedule: Full time; 3/13hr shifts or 4/10hr shifts available. Must be available to take call and rotate weekends, holidays and off-shifts. Our CVOR features state-of-the-art technology, including Stryker integrated video and a Philips single-plane Hybrid OR. This dept comprises 7 operating rooms supporting all cardiac surgery services, including thoracic organ transplantation (heart and lung), mechanical circulatory support, structural heart, congenital, and advanced aortic surgery. Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities: Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships. Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice. Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions. Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues. Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs. Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements: Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse
  • BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
  • Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support with American Heart Association
