This position involves delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, which includes data collection, assessment, identifying and prioritizing patient problems/needs, and evaluating the outcome of nursing care. The role also requires coordinating, providing, and directing patient teaching activities, and coordinating care provided by other health team members. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the nurse will conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze data, create and implement treatment plans, and evaluate their effectiveness. Responsibilities include administering medications safely according to state and organizational policies, serving as a central contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments, and advocating for patient safety through participation in departmental quality improvement initiatives. The nurse is expected to integrate a professional practice model into all aspects of care delivery.
