This position involves delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, which includes data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The role also includes coordinating, providing, and directing patient teaching activities and coordinating the care provided by health team members.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
• Associate of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required).
• Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and future innovations.
• Nursing judgment and skill based on principles of biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences.
• Application of the nursing process in patient care delivery.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Analyze assessment data and create a plan of care.
• Implement treatment and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Administer medications safely according to State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies.
• Serve as the point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
• Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
