About The Position

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room at Mercy Perrysburg Hospital, you will play a crucial role in delivering patient care through the nursing process. This involves comprehensive data collection and assessment to identify and prioritize patients' problems and needs. You will evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care and coordinate patient teaching activities while ensuring that care is provided in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. Your responsibilities will include conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzing assessment data, creating and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating treatment effectiveness. You will also administer medications safely, serve as a point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments, and act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the department. In this role, you will be expected to incorporate the professional practice model into your care delivery. You will be required to work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis, ensuring that patient care is continuous and effective. Your knowledge of contemporary nursing practices and future innovations will be essential in providing high-quality care. You will utilize your nursing judgment and skills, grounded in the biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences, to optimize patient outcomes. Additionally, you will engage in health teaching and promotion, advocate for patients, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
