About The Position

Thank you for considering a career at Roper St. Francis Healthcare! The position is part-time with scheduled weekly hours of 8, working during the day. The role requires operating room experience as both a scrub and circulator, with a strong background in orthopedics preferred. This is a PRN (as needed) position. The primary function of this role is to deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patients' problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The nurse will coordinate, provide, and direct patient teaching activities and coordinate the care provided by health team members.

Requirements

• Must have Operating Room Experience - Scrub and Circulator.
• Strong background in Orthopedics preferred.
• Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
• Associate of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (required at hire).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Analyze assessment data and create a plan of care.
• Implement treatment and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice and organizational policies.
• Serve as the point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
• Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
