The Clinical Nurse (RN) position at Duke Raleigh Hospital's Surgery Center involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a patient-centered environment.   • Provide and supervise direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities.
  • Utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) to achieve nursing department goals.
  • Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients.
  • Participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, and research projects.
  • Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting body standards.
  • Actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships.
  • Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or current compact RN licensure to practice in North Carolina.
  • BLS (or higher) certification required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program is required.
  • At least one year of previous work experience as a registered nurse is required for a CN2 role.
  • Professional specialty certification is preferred.
  • Previous work experience (1+ years) as a clinical nurse is preferred.
  • All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date.
  • Flexible shifts with start times as early as 5:30am and end of shift at 5pm.
  • No weekends, no holidays, no call requirements.
