About The Position

Accountable for staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent and a leader in the area of support. Develops nursing expertise and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced-based clinical practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
  • 1-3 years Nursing experience
  • The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provides staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent and leader.
  • Develops and identifies clinical prevention strategies in area of expertise.
  • Supports the development of the nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced-based clinical practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development.
  • Proactively participates in continuing education with a goal of enhancement of clinical practice.
  • Serves as a resource in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines essential to assure compliance with care standards.
  • Collaborates with the director/manager to develop and implement an education and orientation plan in clinical area of focus. Coaches and provides feedback to staff regarding their nursing care.
  • Delegates, supervises, and evaluates nursing care given by others while retaining accountability for the quality of care given to the patients and provides input to nursing leadership as necessary.
  • Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues and others.
  • Assists in compiling and presenting optimal care standards via case reviews of patients for internal and regional committees.
