About The Position

Thank you for considering a career at Mercy Health! Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Work Shift: Nights (United States of America) BLS, NRP, STABLE, NCC EFM certification required. This is a Collective Bargaining Unit Position. General Summary: Functioning as the leader of the Care Delivery Team, the Clinical Nurse I (CN I) assumes the responsibility of directing care for a team of patients, using the CN II as a resource. The nursing care reflects independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s physical, psychological, and sociocultural needs. Demonstrates competencies essential in the use of all equipment utilized in the care of patient age groups as indicated. A CN I is the entry step to the Mercy (CHP) Clinical Ladder. The CN I has one year to progress to the CN II level.

Requirements

• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure from the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period.
• Completion of Orientation Checklist.
• Obtain/maintain a minimum of 12 contact hours of continuing education annually, including Fire Safety & CPR/BLS Recertification.
• Theoretical knowledge combined with beginning level clinical experience in providing nursing care.
