About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity to join Banner Health. As an RN for Banner Staffing Services you will self-schedule a minimum of 2 shifts per month with no weekend commitment. There are opportunities for both Day and Night shift as well as to pick up shifts at other Banner Health locations. Banner Staffing Services (BSS) offers Registry/Per Diem opportunities within Banner Health. Registry/Per Diem positions are utilized as needed within our facilities. These positions offer flexibility in scheduling and are great way to start your career with Banner Health. As a BSS team member, you are eligible to apply (at any time) as an internal applicant to any regular opportunities within Banner Health. Banner Staffing Services is also excited to provide Banner Bedside Commitment opportunities (Formally Banner Travel). Banner Staffing Employees can pick up 8, 10, or 13 week commitments at a wide variety of Banner Facilities in the following state: Wyoming, Nevada, Nebraska, California, Arizona and Colorado.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.
  • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations.
  • Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
  • Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input.
  • Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team.
  • Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed.
  • Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
  • Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice.
  • Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care.
  • In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
  • Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts.
