About The Position

The position is within the Non-Invasive Cardiology department at St. Mary's of Nazareth Hospital, located in Chicago, IL. This is a Per Diem (PRN) role with a day shift schedule. The role involves providing direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations, addressing various aspects of care related to the surgical environment, and ensuring effective communication with physicians regarding patient conditions. The nurse will also assist with equipment maintenance, assess the readiness of procedure rooms, obtain necessary supplies, and monitor patients' physiological and hemodynamic data during procedures in the cardiovascular lab. Participation in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities is also expected.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.
• Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
• Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.
• One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
• Communicates with physician continuously and as needed about patient condition.
• Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory.
• Assesses procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness.
• Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met.
• Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
• Monitors and records patients condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
