About The Position

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is a 141-bed acute-care community hospital committed to providing outstanding service. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the scope of practice, directing and guiding patient/family teaching, and overseeing activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients, communicating with physicians about changes in clinical condition, and responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment. Patient privacy and confidentiality must be maintained. Registered Nurses in the Float Pool will be assigned as needed to departments such as MedSurg, Behavioral, Telemetry, and may also float to ICU/CCU and the Emergency Department, based on competencies.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ventilator Management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.
  • Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients.
  • Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
  • Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Will be assigned as needed to the following departments: MedSurg, Behavioral, Telemetry, may also float to ICU/CCU, and Emergency Department, based on competencies.
