About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN)-Nights & Weekends is prepared to handle all on-going needs, in addition to urgent needs of patients and their families after hours in their homes or facility. The RN Nights & Weekends follows the established care plan of the patient while ensuring comfort care to the patient and support to family members. Location: DC, Largo MD Schedule: Full-time: 7 shifts per 2 weeks. Hours vary between 5:00pm-8:00am, holiday and weekends. COVID-19 vaccine required to be completed upon start.

Requirements

• Must have one year of staff nurse experience in a comparable setting/unit.
• Hospice and/or palliative care experience is strongly preferred.
• Must have a degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Requires licensure from the governing body of practice for the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Licensure from compact state is acceptable.
• Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) is required to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
• A CHPN certification is a plus.
• Must have a driver's license in good standing and access to a vehicle during working hours.

Responsibilities

• Visits patients with emergent, critical needs in a timely manner.
• Arranges for, teaches, and supervises nursing care of patients in home care and facility settings in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Makes nursing assessments and uses critical thinking skills to provide care based on evidence-based practice, within scope of practice.
• May be asked to rotate to other regions/departments.
