Norman Regional Health System's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 25-bed Level III unit that emphasizes family-centered care and includes a Neonatal Ground Transport Team. The Registered Nurse (RN) role involves essential functions such as systematic assessment and reassessment of patient healthcare needs, appropriate for specific age groups and conditions, involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers. It also includes analyzing assessments to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, providing nursing care through evidence-based interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes and discharge needs.
