The New Graduate RN Residency Program at Banner Health has received the highest accreditation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP). Banner Health’s New Nurse Experience (NNE) provides a collaborative learning environment where you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and transition from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships. Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. We offer all of our New Grads multiple Career Pathways and development opportunities to achieve your long-term career goals. Whether you are wanting to go into a specialty unit, leadership roles, non-bedside nursing opportunities, or any other sector of nursing - we will help you get there! The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! New Grads will also need to live within a reasonable commute distance of the facility they are hired into. Most new nurses will work three 12 hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members. The Cardiac Medical Progressive Care and Heart Failure Unit is a 48-bed unit that provides specialized care for patients with diagnoses including angina, sub-acute MI, and heart failure. Many of our patients receive diagnostic tests and interventional treatments such as cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placement, or ultrafiltration (used for HF patients no longer responding to diuretics). Other interventional treatments include permanent pacemakers, and internal cardiac defibrillators (ICD). This department has a very committed Heart Failure Team that works cohesively with our nursing team to ensure we are providing the most optimal care for this critical population. Ratios on this unit are typically 1:4.
