This position is for a Registered Nurse New Graduate in the Emergency Department at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson. It is part of Banner Health's New Nurse Experience (NNE) program, which is a full-time Registered Nurse Residency Program accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program®. The program is designed to assist new graduates in transitioning to fully competent, professional nurses by providing a collaborative learning environment. This includes clinical experiences with a preceptor, training in a state-of-the-art Banner Simulation Center, competency and skills assessment and verification, orientation to the Cerner electronic medical health record system, patient care skills labs, and e-Learning modules. Participants are expected to commit to their NNE unit for at least 12 months to gain comprehensive training and must reside within a reasonable commute distance of the facility. Most new nurses will work three 12-hour shifts, including weekend and holiday rotations. The Emergency Department at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson is an 80-bed unit, handling approximately 73,000 patients annually across all age groups, treating urgent and emergent medical and behavioral health patients. It is recognized as a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, a Comprehensive stroke, cancer, and cardiac center, and includes an accredited Pediatric Prepared Advanced Care facility and a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center with a 16-bed pod.
