About our program: The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships. Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. We offer all of our New Grads multiple Career Pathways and development opportunities to achieve your long-term career goals. Whether you are wanting to go into a specialty unit, leadership roles, non-bedside nursing opportunities, or any other sector of nursing - we will help you get there! The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! New Grads will also need to live within a reasonable commute distance of the facility they are hired into. Most new nurses will work three 12 hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members. Unit Description: At Banner University Medical Center - Tucson, there will be exciting opportunities to be a part of the health care transformation. We are known nationally as an innovative leader in new health care models, a Level 1 Trauma and Academic Medical Center in Southern Arizona, and are on the cutting edge of medical advances. You will work alongside a group of dedicated physicians and staff that perform some of the most state-of-the-art procedures that exist anywhere in the country. As a RN New Grad on the Neuro PCU unit you will have the opportunity to work on a unit specializing in the Neurology/Neuro-Surgery population. Our core staff are trained and certified to provide the best care for Tucson’s stroke & seizure population. We have 8-10 beds for PCU/Stepdown. We are the second Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center in Arizona and the only level 4 Arizona Comprehensive Epilepsy Program in Southern Arizona. Come be a part of our team and become an expert RN in Neurology. We have Day Shift (7:00AM - 7:30PM) and Night Shift (7:00PM - 7:30AM) available. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
