About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit. This is a full-time position requiring 36 hours per week on the night shift from 7pm to 7am. The hospital provides highly skilled care to various types of neuroscience patients, including those undergoing back and neck surgeries, epilepsy treatments, and stroke care. The role offers the opportunity to work with top neurosurgeons and neurologists, develop strong neuro skills, and train in the epilepsy monitoring unit. New graduate nurses are welcome to apply and can participate in a dynamic 6-month Nurse Residency program designed to support their transition into nursing.

Requirements

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Education: RN-Associate's Degree, RN-Bachelor's Degree, RN-Diploma, or RN-Master's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional care to neuroscience patients.
• Work collaboratively with a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Develop neuro skills and prepare for potential transition to neuro ICU.
• Participate in the Nurse Residency program for new graduates.
