About The Position

The position is within the Surgery - Neuro department at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola, located in Pensacola, Florida. This is a PRN (as needed) role that involves delivering professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. Responsibilities include performing scrub and circulating functions, assisting the operating physician with surgical tasks, and preparing operating rooms and surgical instruments for use.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required.
• Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition 'Compact State' obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
