About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Cornell 2- our Neuro Oncology unit! This is a full-time Day Shift position in Charlottesville, VA. Sign On Bonus up to 15k available for Qualified Candidates! Cornell 2: Our Medical/Surgical Unit specializes in Neuro Oncology, urology, vascular, and chest tube care, providing a dynamic environment for experienced nursing professionals and new graduates. With a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6, you'll develop your skills while receiving mentorship from experienced staff. We care for a diverse patient population, including those with CHF, COPD, oncology patients with neutropenia or new diagnoses, and amputations. Operating on 12-hour shifts with weekend rotations, we offer comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development to foster collaboration and growth in your nursing career. Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
  • Registered nursing License (Required).
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred).
  • 1 year of acute care (preferred).
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process.
  • Utilize standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrate professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
