About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for providing specialized care to newborns requiring intensive medical attention. The RN works collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to neonates and their families.

Requirements

  • Minimum Associate Degree in Nursing (AAS/ASN) required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – required upon hire.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – required within 6 months of hire.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required within 6 months of hire.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required within 6 months of hire.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
  • NICU or neonatal care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill or premature newborns in the NICU.
  • Perform ongoing assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of neonatal patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans .
  • Support the physical, emotional, and educational needs of families.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
  • Operate and monitor NICU equipment and life-support systems .
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
