This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal ICU (NNICU) working night shifts. The role involves active participation in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to enhance care processes and implement evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, ensuring patient and family engagement throughout the care continuum. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to optimize outcomes. The role emphasizes upholding a culture of safety, continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, and safe administration of medications, treatments, and therapies according to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are crucial for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The nurse is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, maintain certifications, adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, and practice ethical decision-making. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is also a core duty. The position may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles across the life span to assess and interpret patient status relative to age-specific needs.
