About The Position
St. Francis Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position requires a minimum of one year of NICU experience and involves providing high-quality care to neonates from post-delivery stabilization through discharge. The RN will be responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role also involves directing and guiding patient and family teaching, as well as overseeing the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards. The RN must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment responses, ensuring a safe environment for both patients and visitors. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care. As part of the NICU team, the Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care within the scope of practice, assisting neonates and their families during critical times. The RN will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to handle emergencies with composure.
