About The Position

The Registered Nurse on Med Surg Tele is responsible for providing care that is respectful and responsive to the patient’s values in clinical decision making. Performs completely and accurately including, but no limited to, physical (i.e. assessment for pain, skin breakdown, risk for falls), psychological (i.e. cognitive and communicative skills or development), social status and other patient needs. Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, desire for care and responses to any previous care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for initiating discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate as well as accurately documenting and keeping record.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• One (1) year medical/surgical experience in an acute care facility preferred.
• Current BLS & ACLS certification (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful and responsive care to patients.
• Perform physical assessments including pain, skin breakdown, and risk for falls.
• Assess psychological and social needs of patients.
• Identify and prioritize further assessment needs based on clinical presentation.
• Initiate discharge planning for each patient upon admission.
• Accurately document and keep records of patient care.
