As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for delivery of patient care in the Medical-Surgical Department through the nursing process of interview, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and triage. The RN provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. Canyon Vista Medical Center is located in Sierra Vista, Arizona and is a 106 bed Joint Commission Accredited offering a number of specialty services. We are proud to serve our community with a Level III Trauma unit, Center of Excellence for Total Joint Replacement, Level I Nursery, American College of Radiology Accredited Facility, as well as many other state of the art services to ensure our patients are cared for.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred.
  • Must have an active Arizona or Compact RN License.
  • BCLS required.
  • One year of experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
