The RN plans, coordinates, and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the 3 North-Surgical & Pediatrics floor. The role ensures quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with departmental standards. RNs are expected to demonstrate performance aligned with the unit's and organization's mission, philosophy, and goals, remain flexible to changing systems, exhibit quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practices, and treat staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect. The 3 North-Surgical & Pediatrics floor has 30 Medical Beds and 19 Surgical Beds, with a 5:1 Day Ratio and 5:1 Night Ratio, operating on 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BLS
  • ACLS required for charge RN

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and implement patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the 3 North-Surgical & Pediatrics floor
  • Ensure that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with departmental standards of care
  • Demonstrate performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the assigned unit and the organization
  • Remain flexible to changing systems
  • Demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practices
  • Treat staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect
  • Utilize specialized plan-of-care intervention
  • Serve as a patient-care innovator
