Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Cornell 3- our MedSurg Unit! This is a full-time Night shift position (12 hour) in Charlottesville, VA. One of the best staffed Medical/Surgical units in the state! Up to 20k Sign On Bonus for qualified candidates! Cornell 3 is a 24-bed medical-surgical unit focused on gastrointestinal care, addressing conditions like gallbladder diseases, appendicitis, bowel obstructions, and procedures such as colon resections and ostomy creation. The unit also cares for patients with sepsis, respiratory issues, and diabetes complications, maintaining a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 to 1:6 for personalized care. It is an ideal environment for both experienced nurses and new graduates seeking skill development.   • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process.
  • Conduct assessments, diagnoses, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
  • Maintain standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • 1 year of acute care (preferred)
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
