Job Summary: The Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) prescribes interventions, delegate tasks, and coordinates care of assigned patients. Gives direction and supervision to ancillary staff and gives individualized patient care. In doing so, uses the nursing (problem solving) process with age-appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Requirements

Clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred
High level of interpersonal skills needed in order to ensure patient cooperation with the medical and nursing plan of care
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Ability to apply problem solving skills to all situations
Ability to cope with high stress levels when dealing with patients, families, physicians, and other staff
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina
Basic Life Support/Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS/CPR) required, Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) preferred
